The Trinamool is all geared up for the Shaheed Diwas mega rally and small rallies have already started their movements across the state. However, serious allegations of extortion and coercion have come to light. Mahasweta Ghosh, an Anganwadi worker from Farakka in Murshidabad, has filed a written complaint with the Block Development Officer (BDO) alleging harassment and threats by local Trinamool leader Humayun Kabir.
According to the complaint, Kabir, who is associated with the Trinamool Congress Panchayat Samiti, demanded Rs 1500 from the ICDS center where Ghosh works. The money was purportedly for expenses related to the Martyr's Day rally. When Ghosh refused to comply with the demand, Kabir allegedly resorted to threats and physical intimidation.
Ghosh's complaint has sparked concern among ICDS workers, who fear reprisals if they do not meet similar demands. They have approached both the BDO and local authorities seeking protection and justice.
In response to these serious allegations, Humayun Kabir has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, dismissing the accusations as baseless and politically motivated.
